JOBS AT CAMP MCCULLOUGH

Working at Camp McCullough isn’t just a job, it’s an opportunity to grow in your faith and be a part of an incredible team.

  • COUNSELOR

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, attentive camp counselor to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all Camp McCullough has to offer during a week at camp. Camp counselors will help coordinate activities and lead group events, monitor campers and respond to incidents, such as behavioral problems or accidents, lead campers spiritually, and discuss camper participation and concerns with leadership and other camp staff members. Counselors should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun and safe camp experience.

  • LIFEGUARD

    Lifeguarding staff ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff while swimming and boating. They are also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing campers/guests with an experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Camp McCullough.

    Applicants must be 16 years old and have a current Lifeguard certificate.

    MAINTENANCE

    Maintenance staff are responsible for cleaning areas around the property (bathrooms, cabins, lodge, etc.) and preparing events/activities for campers. They are also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing campers/guests with an experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Camp McCullough.

    KITCHEN

    Kitchen staff will clean dishes, equipment, and the kitchen area as needed, and will assist the cooks with food preparation to offer high-quality food products and service. They are also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing campers with an experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Camp McCullough.

    Applicants must have a current WA State Food Handler's Card.

  • SUMMER LEAD POSITIONS

    Summer Leads are the backbone of the staff programs here at Camp McCullough. Each summer we believe our mission is only as strong as our leaders, this is where our leads come in. Individuals who are a part of the leadership team are those who will be the face of Camp McCullough in many different areas. Whether through their relationships with their specific departments, leading Bible studies, showing hospitality to our guests, etc. Leads have the fantastic privilege of pouring into every encounter they have spent with us. We believe those who wish to serve on our leadership team are equipped to be revolutionaries in every circle they are in, leading like Christ.

    OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

    The Operations Assistant supports the overall management, administration, programming, maintenance, and operation of Camp McCullough. The position is responsible for supervising summer staff and volunteers. Together with the Operations Director, the Operations Assistant serves as a camp host to partner organizations using the property throughout the summer. The Operations Assistant must demonstrate proven ability in providing excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, supervision, administration, marketing, and hospitality.

    LIFEGUARD LEAD

    The Lifeguard Lead is the primary leadership position for the lifeguard team during the summer weeks at Camp McCullough. The lead is responsible for managing and supervising all waterfront activities for the summer. Leaders are encouraged to bring their unique twists to the position but must accomplish all weekly tasks in a timely manner. Completing tasks both on schedule and to the standard of Camp McCullough is critical. The lifeguard lead will inspire and encourage their team to accomplish daily duties while ensuring waterfront safety.

    MAINTENANCE LEAD

    The Maintenance Lead is the primary leadership position for the maintenance team during the summer weeks at Camp McCullough. The lead is responsible for managing and supervising all maintenance staff for the summer. Leaders are encouraged to bring their unique twists to the position but must accomplish all weekly tasks in a timely manner. Completing tasks both on schedule and to the standard of Camp McCullough is critical. The maintenance crew leader will inspire and encourage their team to accomplish daily duties.

    KITCHEN LEAD / ASSISTANT COOK

    The Kitchen Lead is the key leadership position for the kitchen team during the summer weeks at Camp McCullough. The lead is responsible for managing and supervising all kitchen staff for the summer as well as assisting the cook in preparing meals in a timely manner. Leaders are encouraged to bring their unique twists to the position but must accomplish all weekly tasks in a timely matter. Completing tasks both on schedule and to the standard of Camp McCullough is critical. The kitchen lead will inspire and encourage their team to accomplish daily duties in and out of the Camp McCullough kitchen.

  • Summer Staff positions are intentionally suited to individuals who are looking for short-term summer opportunities for service. Ideally, for our counseling and support staff roles, we are looking applicants who are at least one year out of high school, who have had prior ministry experience, and whose life exemplifies the teachings of Christ.

    Living in the community is a key part of the Summer Staff experience! Staff members are provided with shared housing. Many counselor positions require staff members to reside in cabins with campers.

    Staff is expected to work hard and take advantage of opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Additionally, the staff is expected to work well with people from a variety of cultural and evangelical backgrounds.

  • All applicants will be interviewed as a part of the application process for Camp McCullough. Once you have submitted your application you will be contacted to set up a time for a phone, skype, or in-person interview depending on your location.
